Nasi Goreng, literally meaning "fried rice" in Indonesian and Malay, can refer simply to fried pre-cooked rice, a meal including stir fried rice in small amount of cooking oil typically spiced with kecap manis (sweet soy sauce),shallot, garlic, tamarind and chilli and accompanied by other ingredients, particularly egg, chicken and prawns.     1 tbsp Celery
    4 tbsp Greens of Spring Onion
    1 Spring Onion White
    1 Medium Carrot
    2 Red Chilies
    1 Bok Choi
    2 Green Chilies
    50 gms Tofu Cubed
    1 tsp Vinegar
    1.5 tsp Chili Sauce
    1,5 tsp Soy Sauce
    1 tsp Brown Sugar
    1 tsp Red Chili Oil
    1 tsp Peanut Oil
    1 tsp Paprika Powder
    1/2 tbsp Vegetable Aromata Powder
    1 Lemon

      Cook Rice Rinse off rice under water to remove starch Take 3 cups (750 ml) of water in an open pan and bring water to the boil. When water has come to the boil stir in rice, along with salt and bring it back to a gentle simmer Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 12-15 minutes under low flame. Drain excess water. Cool the rice at room temperature for 5 minutes, then in refrigerator for 10 minutes.


      Prepare Soy Sauce Mix In a small bowl mix vinegar, chili sauce, soy sauce and brown sugar. Keep aside.


      Start with Nasi Goreng In a casserole dish / pot on low heat , add peanut oil & red chilli oil together. Do not stir them Add celery and lemon grass. Stir them for 2 minutes on low flame.


      Add carrots and Spring Onions Add spring onion whites, carrots. Cover it and cook for 1 minute, then add bok choy and stir it for 30 seconds.


      Add Soy Sauce Mix, Rice and Tofu Stir in soy sauce mix along with cooled rice and mix well for 1 minute. Add paprika powder and aromata powder along with tofu, stir for 1 minute.


      Finish Off Nasi Goreng Add green chilly, red chilly and half of spring onion greens. Season with salt to taste and switch off heat. Stir in lemon juice (Half a lemon), mix well and garnish with rest of spring onion greens and serve.
